$8,000 Stretch Goal Unlocked

We have unlocked the $8,000 stretch goal and added 2 new villagers to the game. These happened very fast so I will be posting some updates with details on these cards later. 

What's Next

At the $10,000 level, we will unlock 3 new Feats. These feats are slightly different from the first 6. These can be upgraded while using them in a game. The Statue of Trust, Horn of Honor and Strength of Spirit act similar to other buildings giving you better abilities for your investment. 

$15,000 Revealed

At the $15,000 level, we will upgrade the boxes for both game pledge levels. This will upgrade the telescoping box to magnetic flap box for the basic version and a higher quality plastic clamshell box for the all-weather version. I do not have the final word on samples of the plastic boxes since my manufacturer is still recovering from Chinese New Year.

Other Updates

Many have asked about the Print and Play availability for the game pledges levels and I am making that available for both game pledge levels.

For questions on the quality of the plastic cards. I just filmed a video and it is uploading, but I fear we may hit another stretch goal before it finishes. I will share the link in the comments of this and the main comments for those interested.

We are killing it! (I always wait for a child to chime in asking what we are killing and why) CONTINUING! Notice my persistence. This has been awesome. If you haven't noticed by my writing style I am super pumped and a bit giddy. But we got it. More feats! These aren't your grandpa's feats. Unless he lived on an island... then they may be accurate... But enough about grandpa's feet. These 3 are interesting since they can be upgraded during a game. Once you have achieved their criteria you can use them in all future games. As our playtesters can contest feasts are not simple to achieve but the statue of trust is one of the easier ones and a very useful card.

Up Next

It's time to improve the boxes. The magnetic flap makes it much easier to deal with your game when you are out and about. The clamshell works the same since you don't need to set a lid down or manage it. These will really give a nice home to your cards. They have to live there... Don't they?

$24,000 Goal Announced

A feature I have been working on is enhancing the co-op part of the game. There have been a bunch of improvements to it but I am very excited for these co-op ability cards that will allow players to alter their experience and assist each other in new ways.

We hit $15,000! Which means the boxes for the game will be improved. As some of you may have seen I do not have exact details on these yet since I was working on this with the manufacturer prior to Chinese New Year and then they took their break. So there is info still to come on the plastic box. A sample of the magnetic flap box can be seen in this video. (Sorry I shared the wrong one in the comments earlier) 

Up Next

The additional co-op abilities cards will expand co-op play. These allow you to invest in new abilities that will allow you to work together or more efficiently toward your goals however this is at the cost of the valuable resource that you also need for those goals.

$32,000 Revealed

Dividers cards will allow you to organize your deck and also save your state midway through a game. These are plastic square cards that make it easy to find the place and due to their orientation they can also be used to point out stored resources if you need to pack a game up before finishing. I love that this was mentioned in the comments it was also something our playtesters were interested in and will be a great addition to the game.

Palm Island on BGG

We made the hotness list today. Sure its number 44 out of 50 but I will take it. We want to push the presence on BGG even further. If you get a chance please thumbs up the cover image of Palm Island on BGG (click here) and maybe we can get it on the front page.

$24,000 Unlocked!

We just unlocked the $24,000 pledge level and with it 3 new co-op ability cards. These cards will add new abilities to the co-op mode of play allowing players to have even more choices as they work together to prepare for disasters. Some of these include the ability to store goods during the round so you will have even more to satisfy the overall cost to proceed others will allow players to assist one another and pay for a portion of their upgrade costs in their deck. However, these all will cost valuable resources that could be contributing to your overall goal so choose wisely if and when to use these.

Up Next

These square divider cards are a useful tool to make jumping in and out of Palm island even easier. These 5 cards can be used to separate the decks and bonus cards or to pause a game part of the way through by placing a divider just before each of your stored resources.

Announcing $42,000 Stretch Goal

With this level, we will add a new Feat tracker/reference card that will help you remember which feats you have completed. As you may have seen in the comments we will be adding numbers to each card that will allow you to play a more casual version of the competitive mode among other uses. In this stretch goal, we are also adding extra copies of all 7 villagers to enhance the casual competitive mode. This will allow all players to access these abilities in a more casual competitive mode that is more suitable for new players.

How do we get there?

Share. We also have been doing awesome on BGG we have reached #19 on the hotness list which is great visibility. The mystery of the BGG hotness list is great but basically the more we interact with Palm Island on BGG the better. Add it to lists, become a fan, thumbs up our images or posts. Any playtesters with images of you playing feel free to submit them on BGG. 

Facebook groups are a great place to share just be mindful of each group's rules. Most of the time commenting on a post with a link is permissible. 

EU Friendly?

Recently we have added 2 more pledge options specifically for Uk and EU residents. These have increased shipping costs but will ship from within the EU and will not require VAT fees. The prices of shipping at these levels are $5 for the UK and $7 for the EU. You are still welcome to use the normal pledge levels however these may include VAT fees dependant on your country. The EU pledge levels are mainly available for countries with a lower VAT threshold in the EU and for EU and UK backers who wish to purchase more than one game.
